Undercity raid
Well now the boundaries just keep getting pushed back - today I raided the Undercity. Ok I got my ass kicked but it was good fun. Check out the screenshots here. |
Thunder Bluff raid
As if raiding the Undercity was not good enough, I headed up to the Tauren city of Thunder Bluff for another raid. You can find screenshots of my adventure on my guild's forum. |
The UTC lives!
Finally, this morning my guild was registered. I even spoke to a GM although they told me there was no way to reclaim the original charter that just disappeared. Still it is up and running and already has 11 members. If your on Turalyon, make sure you join ;). |

Emails from the GMs
I finally got emails from the GMs (although I resolved my issue previously). So a word of advice. If you go to register your guild and you get an error saying the name exists then your charter vanishes - your screwed.
Basically it means that someone who signed it has joined another guild. And all you can do is to get a new charter and get everyone to sign it again. How sucky is that? |

Guild tabards
Continuing in my efforts to work everything in the game out for you all (yeah, really ;), I played around with guild tabards today much to the disappointment of my in-game wallet. They do look cool though.
Although you cannot create the design in Ironforge. You can buy a tabard but if you want to register your initial design first, you need to take the Deeprun Tram to Stormwind. |

New Hunter FAQ
WorldofWar.net have updated their Hunter FAQ. So whether you are followed round by a wolf or one of those fetish sex slave things ;), if your a hunter you may wish to check out here.
Out of interest, can hunters get them or is it just a wierd warlock thing? I try to steer clear of that whole area personally. |
Hidden messages
Ok so who has been to Gnomereagan? There are punch cards there which contain what seems to be binary. And rumour has it that they are actual messages.
I'll try and find more on it, if you have any information let us know. Apparently one of the messages says "the king wears Elven underwear." |

Paladin talents guide
There isn't that much on the way of guides for paladins. But I came accross one by Jhelrond on the WoW.com forums. Check it out here. |
Today's maintainence
Today was no ordinary maintainence. Will it was but it went on for a little longer. It was actually 8 hours of it running from 7:00 to 15:00 (GMT+1). Hopefully this will just be a one off though. |

It is popular - according to GameSpot, 100,000 people signed up within the first hour of them opening the beta registration system. The phase opens in two weeks. Check it out here. |

Paladin adventures
Let's get this out of the way first. I am not starting again. You would have to be insane to give up a level 35 mage! Now that is cleared up, I took some time today to try the paladin class.
My god do I love heal! It's awesome. You can solo so many creatures because you can kill one then heal while another is attacking then kill that. Also there is less tactics, I just set my guy to fight and go read up on Thott Bot. Nice and simple, none of this tactical crap that mages have to use to stay alive.
Also the fact that all the stuff I find like chain and leather, etc that with my mage was just vendor trash, I can now actually use.
Downsides to the paladin. Well the main one is ranged weapons. You can only use swords, maces and axes. Using a gun would be cool. I can't pull from a range which sucks and I have to run after humanoids when they try to escape. My mage just frostbolts them.
Also there is no real variety especially for escape. With my mage I would freeze them to the group and run off, then blick forward. I can't do anything like that now.
So what do I think of my paladin adventures so far? They rock as much as I thought they did! However it has really made me remember why I love mages also. So it's all good. |

Looting hacks
So are there any looting hacks? No. Basically Blizzard have set that there are no hacks on a post made on the forum. Which is a good thing for those of us not trying to cheat ;). Check it out here. |

PvP honor system
With some great new features on the way, Blizzard have published an article about the PvP honor system. Read it here. It's a preview thing, looks pretty cool. |
Soloing the deadmines
I heard on the chat a while back, people joking that you would need to be level 35 to solo the deadmines. I am pretty sure now that this isn't true.
I went in there with a full group - and I am level 36. Admittly most of the others were the lower side of 20 but in dungeons the most important thing is numbers. No matter what level you are. That is some quality random advice ;). |

Big changes and issues
In brief. A lot of North American servers are down - so Blizzard are moving them to new hardware. They are also expanding their EU datacenter.
For those who registed in February in the EU, you will be getting three days free play as a thanks from Blizzard.
There was a billing issue earlier this month, I don't know how many others (if any) were affected but there were some problems. Blizzard have now solved this though and awarded a free month to say sorry to those affected. |
Role-playing servers
We ventured onto a role-playing server today to see what it was like. Disappointingly, nobody was saying anything.
Actually one person did but they did not speak in ye olde tounge - so we shot them down good! |

A horse, a horse! My kingdom for a horse!
Of course it is just a phrase. You would have to be stupid to give up an entire kingdom for a horse. Unless it was a really crappy kingdom or had so much council tax that you would have to give it up anyway.
But the theory still stands. I was questing with Mog today who has a horse. It looks so cool, you can make it jump and everything.
He is a paladin so his horse looks cool but then again I really like the look of regular horses, especially for mages, it really suites them. I am still 3 levels and over 70 gold away though. |
A warriors journey
In our adventures to bring you more depth into WoW, and also just to generally play around with it, we are now experimenting with warriors and rogues.
My perspective so far on warriors. Pretty cool, I love being able to equip everything I find from cloth to mail and charge is cool.
The best is yet to come though when I start training ranged weapons. A tank that can pull with a bow or gun is one hell of a useful character. |

Playing around with classes
Random commentary on what I think of the classes I have explored to see what is good and what isn't.
My experiance with priests so far - they draw too much aggro from healing, it's just no fun when whenever you heal you get everyone on you.
Shamans are interesting and deal some decent damage. Warriors are cool as are the weapons option. Good class, underplayed in my opinion.
Underlying advice though is to play around with a few of them. After all it only takes a few hours to do the first 10 levels so it's no big lose if you switch earlier.
And I still think my mage rules ;). |
Turalyon.com launches
There is a new site on the internet dedicated to the Turalyon server. For those who don't know it's a European server and the one which we all play on. Check the site and forums out here. |

Stuff that's happening
In brief: I leveled up to 38! More importantly though they are bringing out action figures of the Horde and the new content patch is undergoing more testing. |
Gold farmers busted
Blizzard have been doing quite a big investigation and after some research have suspended over a thousand accounts that are engage in gold farming to sell for real world money. |

Log in issues for EU servers
I haven't been able to get on the server for like 7 hours now, and I'm not alone. There have been some login issues, but the technical points are not important. The important thing is that you can join the moaning about it here. |

And the outage goes on
I am not happy about this - the unable to logon problems have now prevented me from getting on the game for over 16 hours - what is that about? There are 22+ page topics with people talking about the problems now. |
Deadmines guide arrives
We have been talking about it for about a month now - well we finally delivered. Head over to the game guides page to check out our complete guide to The Deadmines instanced dungeon. |
