Money, money, money
How to stretch this one out - writing an entire article about money. After all it is pretty simple in WoW. Not as simple as the system we use in the "real world" but still, simple enough.

Perhaps I am dwelling on Warhammer Online again. They were going to bring back the old system of 12 coppers to the silver and 20 silvers to the gold or something. Good old fashioned complex systems that made no sense at all. What kind of society would do that? (You American's still using Imperial measurements? ;).

The financial system
Joking aside, money is reasonably simple in WoW. It works like this:

Copper is the lowest form of currency
Silver is 100 copper
Gold is 100 silver

This automatically upgrades and downgrades so if you have 100 copper it will automatically be converted into 1 silver and if you break up your silver by buying something, that will happen automatically too.

Money storage
Money is stored in your backpack. You cannot put it in the bank because there is no need. Money cannot be lost or stolen so you will always have it on you, a system that is so much easier than some games.

If you open up your main backpack you will be able to see how much you have in terms of gold, silver and copper. You can also trade money using the games internal mailing system, so you can send money to other characters in a letter.

It comes and goes
To cover a few other points, you can use money in trading - when you open up the trading box you can enter a number in the boxes for gold, silver and copper instead of adding items into the trading window.

As for spending money, what is the most expensive thing out there to buy? Who really knows other than Blizzard though the most expensive thing that I have heard of is that you can by a mount for 1,000 gold.

One final word - you may find websites selling gold online and on eBay. Be aware that this is against the rules and you will get your account suspended or deleted if Blizzard finds out. It damages the games economy - don't do it!
